All About the Farm to Heart Retreat
Your retreat begins the moment you get out of your car. We greet you and show you to your private teepee where you will find a bed that is so comfortable that you'll forget you're camping. Inside your teepee, you will find a diffuser with a relaxing essential oil blend, fresh eucalyptus to ward off any insect visitors, your yoga mat, towels, toiletries, and a special gift from us.
On our first evening, we will get to know each other with a connection circle that offers the chance to share or to take everything in at your own pace. Dinner will be artfully prepared onsite while you're practicing a gentle vinyasa to help ground you from your travels. When you've finished up yoga & supper, we will settle in around a campfire with s'mores and the chance to be present with each other.
As you begin to hear the birds chirping Saturday morning, we will gently knock on your teepee with your fresh coffee delivery. Once you've had those first precious sips, you're invited to join us on a silent hike through nature. You will then wake up with your first yoga class of the day before eating a hardy breakfast to fuel you up.
From breakfast, we will head to the springs for a chance to experience the natural flow of the water pushing us along. You will have the opportunity to see birds, fish, otters, and plenty of plant life. The water is beautiful beyond words and something that you have to see for yourself!
After your trip down the Ichetucknee, you'll eat lunch before heading to our private cenote where you will be guided through a floating yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra means, Yogic Sleep, so while this will be less than an hour, you will feel like you've had a long nap to get you through the rest of your day.
With free time awaiting you on the other side of your "yogi nap," you have the option to add on a massage, a helicopter ride over the river, a private yoga class. These are all add-on activities that need to be scheduled in advance but if they do not suit you, this is also a wonderful time for rest, journaling, reading, or exploring. There will also be an optional breathwork activity during this time.
As the day winds down, we have another optional mini breath workshop help release the rest of your energy while dinner is being prepared. We will eat our meals together, family style, as the sun sets over the pasture. Night slowly starts approaching and the sky becomes a blanket of stars with a beautiful full moon that sets the perfect ambiance for our connection circle. Here, you're offered a safe place to be vulnerable and connect with guests and your true self with no expectation and nobody wanting or needing anything at all from you. Before bed, you may enjoy a gentle chair yoga series or a nighttime meditation to ease the mind and body.
Sunday morning, wake up feeling refreshed as you enjoy your coffee and morning hike. You'll flow right into your yin yoga practice to marinate your body in healing postures before enjoying your breakfast. After you eat, meet in our connection circle for a love-filled closing ceremony.
Then, the only downfall of the retreat, leaving! We will miss you, but after our weekend, you'll be part of the Yoga Elements Retreats family forever!

What Makes This Retreat Special?
Imagine yourself floating down the pristine waters of the Ichetucknee River after your morning yoga class, playing with friendly highland cows, and meditating in a private underground cenote. The days are ended under a blanket of stars that can only be offered in the country.
This retreat is for women of all ages with a sense of adventure! You will be offered up to 5 yoga classes, 2 silent hikes, Yoga Nidra, and forest bathing. You have the luxury of unplugging from the hustle of your everyday life and immersing yourself in nature.
If you're lucky, let an afternoon shower rinse off any tension that you're holding as you re-learn to dance in the rain!
Every part of your retreat will be outdoors unless you take reprieve on your comfy bed inside of your teepee.
Just A Few Of The Benefits...
Meet wonderful people who will share the experience with you.

We're here to help make your travel to and from Cusco as smooth as possible. We recommend booking evening flights departing on September 23rd, so everyone can arrive in Cusco around 8 AM on the 24th. We can assist with booking these flights to ensure that everyone arrives and departs around the same times, making it easier for us to coordinate airport transfers and maximize our time together.
Once you land in Cusco on the 24th, our driver will be waiting for you outside baggage claim, holding a sign for easy identification. This way, we can kick off our retreat right away without any delays. For your convenience, we'll arrange a similar setup for your departure on September 29th.
Cusco to Urubamba is approximately 57 kilometers (about 35 miles) by road. Typically, it takes around 1 to 1.5 hours to travel this distance by car, depending on traffic conditions and the specific route taken. This route through the Sacred Valley is quite scenic, offering beautiful views of the Andes and the rural landscapes of Peru.
Our goal is to handle the details, so you can focus on enjoying your trip. Let me know if you need any more help with your flight arrangements or any other part of your trip planning!
In September, the weather in Casca, situated in Peru's Sacred Valley, transitions from cool to moderately warm temperatures. During this month, daytime temperatures typically range between 66-75°F, while cooler nights see temperatures dropping to between 41-48°F. Being at the tail end of the dry season, September experiences little rainfall with predominantly clear, sunny days, though you may encounter occasional pre-seasonal showers as October approaches. Additionally, the days start to lengthen in September, with earlier sunrises and later sunsets, which provides ample daylight for engaging in various outdoor activities.
Traveling responsibly in Casca and the broader Sacred Valley region involves being mindful of local customs, environmental preservation, and cultural sensitivities, all of which contribute to a respectful and enriching experience. Women travelers, in particular, should consider dressing modestly in alignment with the conservative nature of rural Peruvian areas. Clothing that covers the shoulders and knees, such as long skirts or trousers paired with modest tops, is generally recommended. This not only shows respect for the local culture but also aligns with the expectations of many communities you might visit.
Additionally, learning a few basic phrases in Spanish or even Quechua, if possible, can significantly enhance your interaction with local residents, as it demonstrates respect and effort to engage with their culture. When visiting sacred sites or community spaces, always ask permission before taking photographs, especially of local people, to maintain their privacy and dignity. Maintain sensitivity towards environmental conservation by minimizing waste and avoiding single-use plastics during your stay. By embracing these practices, you contribute positively to the local community and environment, ensuring a mutually respectful and enjoyable experience for both visitors and hosts.
When traveling from the USA to Cusco, Peru, it's essential to prepare for differences in electrical outlets and voltage. In Peru, the standard voltage is 220 V, significantly higher than the 120 V commonly used in the United States. This difference means that any electrical devices you bring may require a voltage converter to function properly without damage.
Additionally, Peruvian outlets typically accept plugs with two round pins (Type C) or three flat blade pins (Type B), which are different from the standard two flat prong plugs (Type A) used in the U.S.
To ensure smooth usage of your electronic devices, it would be wise to invest in both a voltage converter and a plug adapter before your trip. These accessories are readily available in most electronics stores or online and will help you avoid any inconveniences during your stay in Cusco, allowing you to enjoy your trip without worrying about charging issues. Taking this simple step can make a big difference in keeping your gadgets powered up and functional throughout your journey.
Before you jet off to the stunning landscapes of Peru, it’s crucial to square away your health essentials. Altitude sickness can really dampen your experience in high-altitude areas like Cusco and Machu Picchu, so consider discussing altitude sickness medications, such as Acetazolamide, with your healthcare provider. These can help mitigate symptoms and make your acclimation much smoother.
Also, update those routine vaccinations! Depending on where your adventures take you, consider vaccinations for Hepatitis A and Typhoid, as these can be contracted through contaminated food or water. A bit of prep will go a long way in ensuring you enjoy every moment of your Peruvian journey without health worries cramping your style.
If you don't have a healthcare provider, we have partnered again with Lotus Elite Care to provide cash pay options for retreat guest. Rachel M. Daily, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC will be happy to provide a Telehealth screening to best help you prepare for your trip with altitude sickness medications, as well as any vaccines that may be needed. Appointments can be scheduled at lotuselitecare.com and be sure to mention Yoga Elements & Retreats.
While planning your trip, one important aspect to consider is securing travel insurance. Although we do not provide travel insurance services ourselves, we highly recommend that every traveler consider purchasing a comprehensive policy. Travel insurance can offer peace of mind by covering unforeseen medical expenses, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and other potential disruptions that might occur during your journey. Even the most well-planned trip can encounter unexpected challenges, and having travel insurance ensures that you are protected financially against these uncertainties. We suggest comparing different policies to find one that best suits your needs, taking into account factors such as coverage limits, deductibles, and inclusions specific to the nature of your trip to Peru. Remember, it's always better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
We’ll be staying right in the heart of Tulum, a lively and walkable area filled with restaurants, cafés, boutiques, markets, and local culture. Our retreat home is just one block off the main road, making it easy to explore, grab a coffee, or head out for group dinners and excursions.
The house itself is a private jungle-style villa with a pool, hammocks, outdoor lounge areas, and plenty of shared spaces for connection, relaxation, and group gatherings. It’s the perfect balance of comfort, community, and authentic Tulum energy.

Guests will fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN). This is the closest major airport to Tulum and offers the most flight options.
Once you arrive, Whitney and Erin will be there to greet you. We’ll have a private driver and van arranged for the group, so you won’t need to worry about transportation or navigating anything on your own.
After we gather the group, we’ll drive together from Cancún to Tulum (about 1.5–2 hours), settle into the retreat house, and officially begin our adventure.
You simply book your flight → arrive in Cancún → and we take it from there.
In November, Tulum enters one of its most enjoyable seasons, offering warm, comfortable temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Daytime temperatures typically range between 78–85°F, with evenings cooling to around 70–74°F, making it ideal for both beach days and relaxed nights out.
November marks the end of hurricane season and the transition into Tulum’s dry season, so you can expect mostly clear skies, lower humidity, and only the occasional light shower. The Caribbean waters are warm and calm this time of year, perfect for cenote swims, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and boat excursions.
Sunrise arrives earlier and sunsets stretch a bit later in November, giving us long, golden hours of daylight—perfect for exploring beaches, wandering town, and enjoying all of our outdoor adventures. The weather is vibrant, tropical, and incredibly comfortable, setting the perfect backdrop for our connection-centered retreat.
Traveling responsibly in Tulum means being aware of the local culture, respecting community spaces, and moving through the area with thoughtfulness.
While Tulum has a relaxed, beachy vibe, it’s appreciated when visitors are mindful of how they present themselves in town, local neighborhoods, and cultural sites. Beachwear is great for the coast, but covering up a bit when away from the beach is a simple way to show respect.
Tulum is also home to deep Mayan roots, and many places you’ll visit—cenotes, ruins, ceremony spaces—hold cultural and spiritual significance. Always ask before taking photos of people or during rituals, and approach these experiences with openness and reverence.
Because the region includes sensitive ecosystems like cenotes, reefs, and jungles, small choices go a long way. Things like minimizing waste, using reef-safe sunscreen, and staying on designated paths help keep the natural beauty of Tulum intact for everyone.
Overall, responsible travel here is about being kind, aware, and respectful—so you can enjoy the magic of Tulum while honoring the people and places that make it so special.
There are no required vaccines for entry into Mexico for U.S. travelers.
If you have specific health concerns or want personalized guidance, it’s always a good idea to check with your healthcare provider or a travel clinic before your trip.
For our retreat, no special vaccines are needed beyond your normal wellness routine.
*Travelers coming from outside the U.S. should check their own country’s entry guidelines for Mexico, as requirements may vary.
Travel insurance is highly recommended for this retreat. While it’s not required, it offers valuable protection and peace of mind before and during your trip to Tulum.
As a licensed travel advisor, Whitney can provide travel insurance policies tailored to your needs.
Coverage options typically include:
Trip cancellation (if something unexpected comes up before departure)
Trip interruption (if you need to return home early or if there are severe flight delays)
Medical coverage while traveling internationally
Adventure activity coverage (ideal for cenotes, excursions, and water activities)
Lost, delayed, or damaged baggage
Travel delays or missed connections
Travel insurance is usually very affordable and can save you from expensive, stress-filled situations later. Once you’re registered for the retreat, you’ll receive details on how to purchase a policy directly through Whitney.
We will be visiting Crete, Greece for this retreat. Crete is the largest of the Greek Islands, about the size of Delaware. We will be staying on the outskirts of Chania, pronounced "Hon-yuh," in the village of Pyrgos Psilonerou.
Daphinis Villas consists of four modern villas focusing on comfort and luxury with a 315 sq ft pool in the middle. Our villa is only 500 feet from a lovely sandy beach lined by a few beach taverns to keep your body nourished.
Pyrgos Psilonerou is a quiet beach and small village in the Chania Prefecture on the island of Crete, Greece. It's located between Gerani and Maleme, near tourist facilities but still maintains a relaxed atmosphere. The beach is known for its clear, deep water is an important breeding habitat for endangered Caretta-Caretta sea turtles, so visitors are advised to respect their nests.

In Whitneys experience, there are direct flights from Atlanta (ATL) and New York (JFK) into Athens. From Athens, you will fly into Chania. It is important to make sure that you have time between connecting flights on the return home, as it is common for Greek airports to be slightly delayed.
The airport in Athens is pretty small, similar to the Sanford Airport. The airport in Chania is comparable to the Daytona Beach airport, and is very small.
In May, the weather in Crete is generally warm and pleasant, making it an ideal time to visit the island. The average temperature ranges from about 63°F at night to around 75°F during the day. You can expect plenty of sunshine, with around 10 to 12 hours of daylight and minimal rainfall, as May is typically one of the drier months. The sea temperature is also warming up, usually reaching around 66°F, which is cool but comfortable for swimming. Overall, it's a great time to enjoy outdoor activities and explore the island without the intense summer heat or the large crowds of peak tourist season.
Traveling responsibly in Greece involves being mindful of local customs, environmental preservation, and cultural sensitivities, all of which contribute to a respectful and enriching experience.
Learning a few basic phrases in Greek, if possible, can significantly enhance your interaction with local residents, as it demonstrates respect and effort to engage with their culture. Simple words like "please" (parakaló) and "thank you" (efcharistó or "F-cha-ree-stow") can go a long way.
Maintain sensitivity towards environmental conservation by minimizing waste and avoiding single-use plastics during your stay. Paper or feminine products do not go in the toilet.
Tipping in Greece is much different than America. Cafes, Bars, Taxis generally expect you to round up to the next Euro. Tour Guides are 10%. Housekeepers are 1-2 Euros.
By embracing these practices, you contribute positively to the local community and environment, ensuring a mutually respectful and enjoyable experience for both visitors and hosts.
Outlets in Greece are different than those in the US. Greece uses Type C (Europlug) plugs.
You can purchase a plug adapter on amazon. Look for a Type C or Type F adapter.
