All About the Resilience Reset
This retreat will begin on Friday at 4:00 pm, that's when guests can arrive and settle into their spaces- whether that be in a teepee or in a traditional guest house (private or shared rooms are first come first served). We aim to gather together around 5:30pm for introductions and an important informational and safety meeting. Our introductions usually include a grounding exercise together to ease the nerves and from there we flow into our first yoga practice of the weekend. After yoga, we will enjoy a family style dinner and traditional campfire s'mores for dessert.
Saturday morning begins with a sound bath & coffee at the nature site. Guests who chose the adventure route this weekend will be awoken by sound bowls with hot coffee delivered to their teepee. Retreat house guests will arrive onsite with one of our instructors to experience their morning concert in the forest. Coffee is followed by either a nature trail run or a silent sunrise hike. We love to use this quiet time in the morning to go within. If your morning run or hike wasn't enough, then get your blood pumping even more with a morning vinyasa class. If that's more than you care for first thing in the morning, then take the next hour to do some reflective journaling on anything that may have come up for you during your morning walk or run. When yoga is over, we will enjoy a hearty breakfast, family-style.
After breakfast, Adrian and Yari will begin the Resilience Reset training portion of the retreat. He will focus on the Importance of Connection & Community during this time. This won't be your typical classroom setting, we will be outdoors, immersing ourselves in nature while learning how to best hold space for others and our own selves.
Lunch is next before we head off to paddleboard or kayak (kayaks will be an extra charge, paddleboards included). We first paddle upstream, taking breaks along the way, finding the ease in the discomfort. This portion is moderately difficult, but the water is shallow enough to stand in most places and falling in is encouraged! We spend time here swimming in the fresh, crystal clear water of Rock Springs. The water remains at 72 degrees year round and you will be able to see tiny fish, beautiful plant and bird life, and maybe even a family of otters if you're lucky! There is also an option to take a shuttle to the top of the run so that you don't have to paddle upstream and can paddle/float back with the rest of our group. No experience necessary for the paddle boards or kayaks.
When we return from our water adventure, we will dive back into discussion with Adrian and Yari. Having been given a few questions to meditate on during your paddle, you'll be ready to jump back into discussion! This portion of the training will visit topics like Mental Health 101.
The option for a Hydration IV administered by a medical professional onsite is offered next, this is an add-on treatment that most of our guests truly enjoy. Blue Wave offers a mobile concierge IV service with vitamins and electrolytes that will support your adventure, relaxation, and hydration. This portion is an add-on for $99 and you will be billed directly through Blue Wave and they will collect any patient information, Yoga Elements Retreats respects your privacy and HIPPA laws.
After optional Wellness IV's and showers, we will meet for connection around the campfire before we eat a hearty meal. This time, a glass of wine is offered and we pair it with s'mores again for that comfort food feeling. Before you slip off to bed, enjoy chair yoga for a good night's sleep while listening to the harmony of a Moonlight Sound Bath.
On Sunday morning you will wake up in a similar fashion as the morning before. Maybe you choose to do the opposite of what you offered your body and mind on the first morning or maybe you go with what feels good at that very moment. Your journey, your choice. This time though, after breakfast instead of a vinyasa practice, join one of our instructors for a yin class. Allow your body to unravel as the stretch visits the fascia and releases unnecessary tension from the body.
Our last session with Adrian and Yari allows us to dive deeper into Trauma Informed Yoga for a bit before we enjoy an early lunch.
After lunch we will head off to our Intuitive Horse Connection experience where we will connect and bond with therapy horses at a local horse sanctuary. Again, no experience is necessary here. We just ask that you come with a respectful and loving heart for these sweet animals.
At very last we will hold our Closing Ceremony and guests will depart from their weekend paradise at 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon.
Just as in your yoga practice, if there is anything that doesn't speak to you, simply skip it. There are beautiful springs and trails for exploring if you ever choose to skip an activity. However, those seeking the continuing education credits will need to attend all modules with Adrian throughout the weekend or complete them online before credits and certification is issued.
Please keep in mind that our schedule is subject to change. We will do our best to always include everything as promised but sometimes the schedule is adjusted and activities are moved around to enhance our guests comfort and experience. Retreats are also held rain or shine, as long as there isn't a threat to safety.

Erin and Whitney often lead the charge, with Erin usually coaxing Whitney into joining her for a playful act. Talent isn’t a necessity here, just a good spirit and willingness to have fun. We encourage costumes to add to the hilarity and enjoyment—it's all about letting loose and having a great time!

While we do our best to hold our retreats rain or shine in order to offer guests the full experience of Earth's elements, we must always put safety first.
With that being said, we do recommend travel insurance in the event of dangerous weather. We aim to notify our guests of cancellations at least four days in advance but also recognize that in Florida, severe weather can develop quickly.

We love that you're here to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, and we have a small favor to ask to keep it pristine. Please help us leave no trace that we were here. That means picking up all your trash and making sure nothing is left behind.
Also, while it's tempting to get close to wildlife or feed the animals for that perfect photo op, we really need to respect their space and keep a safe distance. This helps keep both you and the animals safe and ensures that nature remains undisturbed. Thanks for helping us maintain the beauty and integrity of this special place!

Cusco to Urubamba is approximately 57 kilometers (about 35 miles) by road. Typically, it takes around 1 to 1.5 hours to travel this distance by car, depending on traffic conditions and the specific route taken. This route through the Sacred Valley is quite scenic, offering beautiful views of the Andes and the rural landscapes of Peru.
Our goal is to handle the details, so you can focus on enjoying your trip. Let me know if you need any more help with your flight arrangements or any other part of your trip planning!
In September, the weather in Casca, situated in Peru's Sacred Valley, transitions from cool to moderately warm temperatures. During this month, daytime temperatures typically range between 66-75°F, while cooler nights see temperatures dropping to between 41-48°F. Being at the tail end of the dry season, September experiences little rainfall with predominantly clear, sunny days, though you may encounter occasional pre-seasonal showers as October approaches. Additionally, the days start to lengthen in September, with earlier sunrises and later sunsets, which provides ample daylight for engaging in various outdoor activities.
Traveling responsibly in Casca and the broader Sacred Valley region involves being mindful of local customs, environmental preservation, and cultural sensitivities, all of which contribute to a respectful and enriching experience. Women travelers, in particular, should consider dressing modestly in alignment with the conservative nature of rural Peruvian areas. Clothing that covers the shoulders and knees, such as long skirts or trousers paired with modest tops, is generally recommended. This not only shows respect for the local culture but also aligns with the expectations of many communities you might visit.
Additionally, learning a few basic phrases in Spanish or even Quechua, if possible, can significantly enhance your interaction with local residents, as it demonstrates respect and effort to engage with their culture. When visiting sacred sites or community spaces, always ask permission before taking photographs, especially of local people, to maintain their privacy and dignity. Maintain sensitivity towards environmental conservation by minimizing waste and avoiding single-use plastics during your stay. By embracing these practices, you contribute positively to the local community and environment, ensuring a mutually respectful and enjoyable experience for both visitors and hosts.
When traveling from the USA to Cusco, Peru, it's essential to prepare for differences in electrical outlets and voltage. In Peru, the standard voltage is 220 V, significantly higher than the 120 V commonly used in the United States. This difference means that any electrical devices you bring may require a voltage converter to function properly without damage.
Additionally, Peruvian outlets typically accept plugs with two round pins (Type C) or three flat blade pins (Type B), which are different from the standard two flat prong plugs (Type A) used in the U.S.
To ensure smooth usage of your electronic devices, it would be wise to invest in both a voltage converter and a plug adapter before your trip. These accessories are readily available in most electronics stores or online and will help you avoid any inconveniences during your stay in Cusco, allowing you to enjoy your trip without worrying about charging issues. Taking this simple step can make a big difference in keeping your gadgets powered up and functional throughout your journey.
Before you jet off to the stunning landscapes of Peru, it’s crucial to square away your health essentials. Altitude sickness can really dampen your experience in high-altitude areas like Cusco and Machu Picchu, so consider discussing altitude sickness medications, such as Acetazolamide, with your healthcare provider. These can help mitigate symptoms and make your acclimation much smoother.
Also, update those routine vaccinations! Depending on where your adventures take you, consider vaccinations for Hepatitis A and Typhoid, as these can be contracted through contaminated food or water. A bit of prep will go a long way in ensuring you enjoy every moment of your Peruvian journey without health worries cramping your style.
If you don't have a healthcare provider, we have partnered again with Lotus Elite Care to provide cash pay options for retreat guest. Rachel M. Daily, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC will be happy to provide a Telehealth screening to best help you prepare for your trip with altitude sickness medications, as well as any vaccines that may be needed. Appointments can be scheduled at lotuselitecare.com and be sure to mention Yoga Elements & Retreats.
While planning your trip, one important aspect to consider is securing travel insurance. Although we do not provide travel insurance services ourselves, we highly recommend that every traveler consider purchasing a comprehensive policy. Travel insurance can offer peace of mind by covering unforeseen medical expenses, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and other potential disruptions that might occur during your journey. Even the most well-planned trip can encounter unexpected challenges, and having travel insurance ensures that you are protected financially against these uncertainties. We suggest comparing different policies to find one that best suits your needs, taking into account factors such as coverage limits, deductibles, and inclusions specific to the nature of your trip to Peru. Remember, it's always better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
Travel insurance is highly recommended for this retreat. While it’s not required, it offers valuable protection and peace of mind before and during your trip to Tulum.
As a licensed travel advisor, Whitney can provide travel insurance policies tailored to your needs.
Coverage options typically include:
Trip cancellation (if something unexpected comes up before departure)
Trip interruption (if you need to return home early or if there are severe flight delays)
Medical coverage while traveling internationally
Adventure activity coverage (ideal for cenotes, excursions, and water activities)
Lost, delayed, or damaged baggage
Travel delays or missed connections
Travel insurance is usually very affordable and can save you from expensive, stress-filled situations later. Once you’re registered for the retreat, you’ll receive details on how to purchase a policy directly through Whitney.
